Looking back at the launch of Level 256, the new esports innovation platform

#Incubation #Évènement

On 6 November at the AccorHotels Arena, Paris&Co launched Level 256, the first economic development and innovation platform entirely dedicated to esports. The inauguration took place with the support of the Paris City Hall, France Esport, and founding partners AXA, EDF and FDJ.

It was a full house! Welcomed by AccorHotels Arena Director Nicolas Dupeux, and in the presence of the South Korean Ambassador, Paris&Co and its partners presented the new incubator for the entire esports sector.

THE answer to one of the biggest cultural trends in recent years

“The esport market is experiencing growth that offers economic opportunities we must seize:  a global marketplace of €900 million today, projected to reach €3 billion by 2022”, declared Loïc Dosseur, Co-CEO of Paris&Co.

This ambitious project is the answer, complete with a unique venue located in the East of Paris that will run training programs, build awareness and promote the practice of esports accessible to all.

“We want to make this space available to the entire ecosystem as a catalyst for encounters, a place to exchange gaming know-how, solve problems, and decrypt the jargon used by players to facilitate communication between professional teams and institutions or corporations”, says Bertrand Perrin, Head of Level 256.

A global platform to make Paris the European Capital of esports

The partners who are joining us in this adventure participated in the launch ceremony with Paris&Co: Jean-François Martins and Jean-Louis Missika, Deputies to the Mayor of Paris; Thomas Gueridon,  Innovation & Transformation Communications Manager at AXA; Alexandre Boullera, Head of Sports Sponsorship at EDF, Jean-Baptiste Maupas-Oudinot, Head of the CS Conquête entity at the FDJ Marketing Department; and Stephan Euthine, President of France Esports.

The guests got a preview of the first 9 startups incubated by LEVEL 256 in the "Startups Zone", learning more about their solutions and then taking them on in a video game challenge:

WGF, Bequipe, E-corp Gaming, Gameblr Esports, Gamers Room, Gameward, Gozulting, Pantheon, Pictor, Wezzar.
